#outthere: Art between Indoor and Outdoor

From November 4 to 11, 2026, the Kunstverein Starnberg transforms the Schlossberghalle into a multi-voiced thinking and experience space. The annual exhibition #outthere is dedicated to the question of how nature, landscape, boundaries, and human perception are interconnected.

A theme with many perspectives

More than 60 artists investigate the outdoors as a concrete place, a transition zone, and a cultural concept. Painting, sculpture, and other artistic expressions make visible how landscapes are discovered, shaped, and remembered. The works tell of traces of human interventions as well as impressions that places leave in us.

Between Protection and Departure

The exhibition understands the outdoors not only as a natural space. It also appears as a social space of encounter and distinction, as an imaginary place of the unknown and as a scene of change. This creates an art-historically and socially stimulating view of the works between closeness and distance, safety and openness.

Guest Artist from the Artists' Guild Landsberg-Lech-Ammersee

The sculptors of the Artists' Guild Landsberg-Lech-Ammersee e.V. are invited as guest artists. This cooperation expands the exhibition spectrum with plastic positions and creates a cross-district dialogue. Visitors experience a varied exhibition atmosphere where different materials, forms, and artistic attitudes meet.

Supporting Program with Film, Music, and Artist Talk

The exhibition week combines aesthetic experience with cultural education. On November 7, the film evening Giovanni Segantini – Magic of Light with an introduction by Maria Rosina Lamp is on the agenda. The traditional matinée concert with young talents from the Starnberg music school follows on November 8. During the artist talk on November 10, the exhibitors will present their works personally.

Workshops for Adults and Children

Practical offerings invite participation in creative activities. Planned are workshops for free painting, watercolor, Instagram for creatives, and a painting course for children. This makes the exhibition an open art experience that combines observation, exchange, and personal creation.

Conclusion: Rethinking the Outdoors

The annual exhibition of the Kunstverein Starnberg promises an inspiring encounter with contemporary art from the region. Those who want to experience nature, landscape, sculpture, painting, and social issues in a vibrant exhibition will find a versatile art experience in the Schlossberghalle. A visit opens new perspectives on the space between indoors and outdoors.
