#outthere: Art between Nature, Borders and Perception
On November 4, 2026, Kunstverein Starnberg e.V. will open its annual exhibition at Schlossberghalle. Under the title #outthere, the exhibition brings together more than 60 artistic positions and invites visitors to reconsider familiar ideas of nature, landscape, and public space.
A multifaceted view of the outside
The exhibition theme leads directly into a central contemporary experience: Outside always emerges in relation to an Inside. The works examine boundaries, transitions, belonging, and perception. Specific places, landscapes, urban spaces, and marginalized areas appear as visible settings as well as inner memory spaces.
In painting, sculpture, and other forms of visual art, traces of human intervention become as tangible as the impressions that places leave in consciousness. The Outside appears as a social space of encounter and distinction, as a cultural space of imagination, and as a site of the unknown, of new beginnings, and of change.
Exhibition Atmosphere and Aesthetic Experience
The contemplation of the works promises a varied art experience between proximity and distance, security and openness. Different materials, forms, and visual spaces provide perspectives on landscape, nature, and human presence. The curation connects individual artistic signatures with a shared art-historical question: How does our view change when Inside and Outside are seen not as opposites but as intertwined spaces of experience?
More than 60 artists and guests from Landsberg
In addition to the members of Kunstverein Starnberg, the sculptors of the Artist Guild Landsberg-Lech-Ammersee e.V. are invited as guest exhibitors. This cross-district cooperation expands the spectrum of the exhibition with sculptural positions and makes the exchange between artists, institutions, and the public visible.
Supporting Program with Film, Music, and Artist Talk
The exhibition week combines cultural education with personal practical experience. A film evening with a short lecture on Saturday, November 7, at 6:30 PM is dedicated to the artist Giovanni Segantini and the magic of light. On Sunday, November 8, from 11 AM, young talents from the Starnberg music school and their teachers will perform at the traditional matinée concert.
During the artist talk on Tuesday, November 10, from 4 to 6 PM, artists will present their works and provide insights into working processes, themes, and personal perspectives. Four workshops complement the program: Free Painting, a Children's Workshop, Instagram for Beginners and Advanced, and a Watercolor Course. Registration is required for the workshops; participation fees range from 5 to 25 euros depending on the program.
Conclusion: An Art Experience for Curious Eyes
The annual exhibition #outthere welcomes visitors with an open, dialogical, and sensorially experienceable presentation of contemporary art. Those who want to understand landscape not just as a motif but as a cultural, social, and inner space will find numerous points of connection for an intense aesthetic experience in Schlossberghalle. Admission is free. A visit to the opening and the subsequent exhibition week enriches the perspective on art, nature, and the spaces in between.
