Inclusion in club sports in the district
Starnberg launches first inclusive sports week – 37 offers for everyone
For the first time, an inclusive sports week is starting in the Starnberg district. Ten clubs are opening their training sessions and courses and bundling 37 program points at the start – as a practical test run to see how joint sports for people with and without disabilities can work in everyday club life.
Program and offers
The action week runs from April 20 to 25, 2026. The program deliberately does not focus on a single flagship event, but on many entry opportunities in different settings. Those who want to participate can try out the following sports, among others, depending on their interests and capacity:
- Judo
- Climbing
- Yoga
- Dancing
The range is part of the concept – inclusion should not stand as a special format alongside regular operations, but become visible where clubs normally train.
Network and partners
The week is supported by a network of sports and local social support. In the official event documents of the district, in addition to the participating clubs, partners are also listed as contact points:
- FortSchritt Bayern gGmbH
- Caritasverband Starnberg
- Lebenshilfe Starnberg
This makes a central point of the project clear: Participation is not only decided in the sports hall, but often beforehand – in information, in ways of making contact, in questions about accompaniment, access, or suitable course selection.
Goals and outlook
The fact that ten clubs are participating right from the start and providing 37 offers underlines the claim not only to name barriers, but to practically dismantle them. What is decisive is what remains after the week: The sports week creates visibility for existing opportunities, lowers inhibitions through "joining in instead of watching" and can also be a reality check for clubs – which adjustments in training work, where additional support is needed, and how offers can be designed so that they find a place in regular operations in the long term.
Organization and registration
Organizationally, too, the premiere is clearly designed as a participation week: According to the official program PDF, registration was scheduled until April 10, 2026; contacts were made via the contacts listed in the program. With this, the district is taking a first bundled step that goes beyond a symbol: In Starnberg, a concrete test will be carried out for a week to see how inclusive structures in club sports can be built and made suitable for everyday use on site.
